Those of us in rescue become accustomed to seeing
animals in less than perfect shape on a daily basis but
every once in awhile a dog comes along that shocks us
again and reminds us about why we rescue. "Rip" is one
of those dogs and we were recently contacted by his
rescuer for help for his medical bills. Rip has a
herniated bladder and needed immediate surgery at UGA.
The cost was immense but Rip has battled back from near
death to a life where he is loved and appreciated for
who he is.
Here is what his rescuer Karen has to say about "Rip":
This is Rip.He was tied to a chain and left to
starve and that he almost did..He was brought to me
instead of to the pound so that he could be
spared..He was 28lbs when he came to me almost one
year ago and weighed 68 lbs last night. He is a
handsome boy but has had alot of stress in his life.
Last night he had a hernitated bladder from his life
of trauma.I had to rush him to UGA in the middle of
the night and he is having surgery on Monday. He is
in good hands and will hopefully be fine.He will
remain on my farm with his friends. I feel that
hateful humans did this to him and we as good humans
need to make sure that we make it up to him. From
the bottom of our hearts,Thank you for caring. I
will send pictures of a healthy Rip soon.
Sincerely and with Gratitude
Karen and Rip
