Aug. 11, 2008 update on Phoenix

Phoenix is about 6 years old - severely emaciated weighing in at 45 lbs and he is a large framed, unneutered male GSD. The skin scrape was negative for Demodex so we are hoping that a few weeks of Malasab baths will help him feel better.

He was covered in fleas and ticks and has a yeast infection in both ears. He is also loaded with tapeworms. He tested positive for HW but no microfilaria so we can safely start him on HeartGuard in a week. He also has goopy eyes and a slight cough. Pray it does not develop into anything nasty because I am not sure he could survive a major infection.

He is started on Cephalexin for his skin - had an ampicillin injection because he is running a temp. Had two Drontal for the worms and a Capstar for the fleas.

I will keep everyone updated. He has a soft new bed for tonight and still wants to love people.
