Meet Colie - She is a beautiful, AKC registered, 2 year old female German Shepherd. We were contacted by Colie's former owner telling us that if we couldn't take her he would have her euthanized. We couldn't stand the thought of such a young, beautiful German Shepherd facing death and so we committed to her care and rehabilitation. Colie was not in terrible physical shape when she came to us but she had been trained incorrectly using a "shock collar". We have spent months on Colie's rehabilitation - initially getting her to trust humans again and to know that she would not be "shocked" should she make a wrong move in the yard. She is slowly coming out of her shell and will be a great dog but while we spend the months on rehabilitation for her there are many more dogs that we cannot save because we don't have the room.
